Through personal experience, Nicole developed a passion for providing people superior care, educating them, and stressing the importance of preventative healthcare. After graduating from Florida Atlantic University in 2009 with a Bachelors of Science in Biology, she took a year off to apply to medical schools. During that time, she helped her parents take care of her grandfather, who had been diagnosed with advanced Alzheimer’s disease. The personal care she provided to her grandfather is what inspired her to pursue a career in nursing, because she knew it would allow her to develop a deeper relationship with her patients.
She moved to New York City from South Florida to pursue her career as a Nurse Practitioner, and in 2011, Nicole graduated with her Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Louisiana College. Shortly after, she accepted a position at Doctor P Phillips Hospital in Orlando, where she worked in a fast-paced, critical care setting. After her first year she was promoted to charge nurse, further expanding her knowledge and experience. In 2015, she applied to the University of Miami’s Masters of Nursing program, where she was exposed to a more in-depth knowledge of medicine.
Adventurous and courageous, Nicole enjoys exploring the world and discovering its hidden gems. She loves to practice mind-body connection through yoga, enjoys paddle boarding, and works on becoming a top chef by trying diverse cooking and baking recipes. Whether she’s zip lining through a rainforest in Costa Rica, or immersing herself in the lives of fictional characters by turning the pages of a book, Nicole enjoys traveling to new places in the world.
