  • Amit Batra, MD
    Primary Care

    Amit Batra, MD is a board certified Family Practice physician with a focus on young adult medicine and a passion for using lifestyle to optimize health and prevent illness. Dr. Batra has served in a variety of primary care environments from free clinics in L.A. to fully integrated care delivery systems like Kaiser Permanente. He distinguished himself in these diverse settings by establishing vibrant young adult practices that helped patients stay connected using the evolving technologies embraced by this unique health demographic. Dr. Batra completed medical school in Madison, Wisconsin and his residency at Harbor-UCLA in Southern California. In addition, he completed the Associate Fellowship program through the University of Arizona’s Center for Integrative Medicine.

  • Rani Saxena, MD
    Primary Care

    Dr. Rani Saxena is a board certified internal medicine physician and is the Physician Lead at Crossover Health @ Shoreline. She received her B.S. in Biology with Honors from Stanford University and her M.D. from UCSF (University of California, San Francisco.) Since 2001 she has been an Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor at Stanford University School of Medicine. Dr. Saxena has practiced outpatient primary care medicine in a variety of settings and believes in an integrated approach. She enjoys traveling, yoga, and relaxing with a good book.

  • Leslie Luff, BSN, RN
    Practice Manager

    Leslie is an experienced Registered Nurse with over 20 years of health care delivery experience. She began her career at Stanford Hospital where she worked as a staff nurse, clinical nurse specialist, physician liaison, and PACU nurse. She later gained experience in several specialities including cardiology, orthopedic spine, gastroenterology, internal medicine, and ambulatory surgery. Leslie brings her love of serving and caring for others to her role as the practice manager, responsible for the day-to-day clinical management of the health center. She will help ensure your visit to the health center combines the highest quality of care with an exceptional experience. Leslie is a California girl who was born in Malibu and raised in Menlo Park where she still resides today. She finds great satisfaction in working with people to help them reach their full potential. She is an active mom who enjoys baking, pilates, tennis, and is a huge football and baseball fan! She can often be found helping with her daughter’s crew team or trying to keep up with her son on a dirt bike.

  • Whitney Tabares, RN
    Practice Lead

    Whitney is a motivated and compassionate RN who loves helping patients and making them feel cared for during their most vulnerable moments. Several of her passions include patient education, bringing people together and improving team communication. She works well with others daily, in high-stress and team oriented environments. She is dedicated to the highest standards of patient care, serving one patient at a time. She received her Bachelors degree in Nursing at the University of Arizona in 2007, and her Masters degree in Nursing from the University of San Francisco in 2015. Since starting her nursing career in 2007, she has worked as a hospital bedside nurse for 9 years in several different areas, and took care of medical-surgical, trauma, and cardiac patients. More recently, she switched roles as a management RN in 2016; first as a supervisor and then as a manager overseeing over 40 employees and clinic operations. She is excited to be back in direct patient care helping patients through Crossover! When she is not working she enjoys spending time with her husband and family. She has a soft spot for animals, the geriatric population, and getting out to enjoy nature and travel. Her favorite places she has explored so far with her husband have been Australia, Peru, Belize, and the Cook Islands. She looks forward to making a positive difference in everyone’s day. She wants to ensure that Crossover at Shoreline thrives, and is a place where patients and families can trust their healthcare team.

  • Stacey Nagar, RN
    Contract Practice Lead

    Stacey Nagar is an up beat and warmhearted Registered Nurse with experience working in the Intensive Care Unit, Emergency Room, Operating Room, and PreOp/Recovery Room. She loves challenges and working with a motivated team to accomplish goals. Stacey has been a nurse for over 20 years and has worked in a myriad of settings including a start up hospital to well established institutions (such as Cedars-Sinai and Kaiser Permanente). During this time, she has worked with her team to improve departmental workflow, created safety programs, and developed an education training program for new hire nurses. Stacey wants to use these skills to ensure your experience with Crossover is nothing less than exceptional. Stacey was born and raised in Foster City, California. She received her Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing degree from the University of Southern California and her Doctorate in Nursing Practice with an emphasis in Leadership and Management from Capella University. Stacey enjoys cruising, her annual family trip to Lake Tahoe, and spending time with her family which includes her 2 children and 2 four-legged children.

  • Tami Leung, RN
    Registered Nurse

    Tami is an energetic and compassionate individual who takes prides in providing excellent customer service and patient care. She earned her nursing degree from California State University, San Marcos. She has worked in various health fields such as home health, oncology, intensive care, and public health. Tami had the opportunity to work with the community and local hospitals in Vietnam where she fell in love with patient education and preventative health care. Before her nursing career, she worked in the business industry and earned her Marketing degree from the University of Michigan. Tami is a Michigan native and moved to sunny California in 2008. Since then, she has settled her roots in the south bay and enjoys yoga/pilates and spending time with her family and friends.

  • Marybeth Ibarrientos
    Lead Host

    Marybeth is an upbeat and dedicated individual who strives for growth and excellence. She loves communicating and working with people, and highly values building relationships. She is reliable and thrives on learning and expanding her knowledge in from experiences. Marybeth has demonstrated her communication skills in many different avenues. She worked in the retail and student learning industry for over three years. During that time, she learned to balance many tasks while attending school and build trusting relationships with customers from diverse backgrounds. During college, she also interned with Planned Parenthood Mar Monte, a nonprofit organization that provides medical and education services to several communities. She worked closely with the Volunteer Services and Human Resources Departments and enjoys volunteering whenever she can. Marybeth was born in San Jose, CA and raised in Manteca, CA. She attended college at San Jose State University where she received her Bachelor’s degree in Health Science with a concentration in Health Services Administration. In her free time, she enjoys watching watching movies, hiking, and spending time with her family and boyfriend. She also spends as much time as she can spoiling her energetic Pitbull and Chihuahua mixed dog named Spike.

  • Jillian Cayas
    Host

    Jillian is a dedicated and compassionate individual who has always found joy in helping others. To turn this into a career, she pursued a degree in Public Health from the University of California, Irvine. After graduating in 2017, Jillian moved back home to the Bay Area with a dream to give back to her own community. Throughout her past roles in customer service and patient care, she has gained valuable experience in communication, critical thinking, and multitasking. Jillian believes it is important to be conscientious and empathetic in order to provide patients with the best care possible, and will always strive to ensure that patients stay healthy and happy. Jillian spends most of her free time in her hometown of San Jose with her family and friends. On the weekends, you’ll usually catch her getting her cardio in at the mall or fulfilling her boba cravings. 

  • Maryam Ali
    Host

    Maryam Ali is a driven and motivated life long learner who aspires to work in the health field in service to her community. She is passionate about making sure everyone receives quality health care, something she believes is a human right for every individual. Through her experiences volunteering at a pediatric clinic to completing her own health disparities research she has been able to interact and build relationships with a wide range of patients and health professionals. Building bridges between gaps in access and culture can only be done through community effort, communication, and empathy all of which she deeply values as she continues her professional career. Maryam was born and raised in Santa Clara, California and completed her undergraduate studies at the University of California, San Diego where she received a Bachelors of Science in Public Health and a minor in biology. As the older one of her and her sister, she has always felt a responsibility to her family and hopes to make them proud. In her free time she enjoys reading, mostly historical nonfiction and from time to time a thrilling contemporary novel as well. Her favorite activity is hiking, hitting them gym, and exploring different coffee shops around the Bay Area.

  • Conrad Young, PT
    Physical Therapist

    Conrad graduated from Physical Therapy School in Auckland, New Zealand and has subsequently completed additional training in the 18 month long Folsom Physical Therapy Manual Therapy training, completed mutliple parts of the McKenzie method for mechanical diagnosis, training in the Ola Grimsby Institute Long Term training, become a Certified “Whole Body” Active Release Technique Practitioner, and attended multiple short courses on everyting from neural mobilization techniques to sports conditioning. Conrad has also been part-time faculty of the Auckland Institute of Technology Sports Medicine Dept as well as the Hayward Kaiser Long-term Residency program. Outside of his occupation, Conrad is an avid multi-sport participant especially with Triathlons. He has run everything from Sprint to Ironman distance races. He is also a USAT Certified Triathlon Coach, Vice President of the Palo Alto Run Club, and a general fitness enthusiast. One usual interest is his special skill as an apiarist (a fancy word for a beekeeper) which he maintains on the weekends.

  • Karen Tong, DPT
    Physical Therapist

    While attending UCLA as a pre-medical student, Karen interned at the athletic training and rehabilitation center and became inspired to pursue a career as a physical therapist. In 2014 Karen graduated with High Honors from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences, earning her Doctor in Physical Therapy. Karen has clinical experience in general orthopedics, sports medicine, pre-/post- surgical care, wellness training, and injury prevention. She has worked with patients of all ages and across all activity levels from highly sedentary people to highly active populations including professional/semi-pro/collegiate athletes, extreme and ultra-athletes, and military. Her article on fall prevention was published in APTA’s GeriNotes: Section on Geriatrics in 2014. Since 2017, she was the clinical manager of a high volume outpatient clinic and has given lectures to health and fitness professionals, engaged in community outreach, and worked with PT students as an APTA credentialed clinical instructor. Karen believes that patient education is the key to treatment and this is what leads to superior outcomes. She evaluates and treats with a whole body approach that combines knowledge and understanding of localized anatomy and function within the context of full body structure, function, and movement patterns. She works to restore compromised mobility, strength, and movement pattern through a variety of manual techniques, progressive exercise, and education. Karen is an outdoor enthusiast and enjoys any activities that challenges her mind and body. Karen looks forward to her new role at Crossover Health, building solid rapport with her patients, clinical problem-solving, and watching her patients progress to the activities they need to do, want to do, and aspire to do.

  • Vanessa Nordin, DC
    Chiropractor

    Dr. Vanessa is excited to bring her five years of private practice expertise to Crossover. As a Certified Chiropractic Sports Practitioner (CCSP) and CrossFit Level 1 Coach, she has had opportunities to treat athletes from the Olympic level in weightlifting and volleyball, to avid CrossFit participants. She herself has a passion for athletics as she has competitively played soccer, softball, volleyball, track, crew, and rugby. She also has a passion for women’s health during pregnancy and postpartum to ensure a healthy pregnancy, birth and return to physical activity. Dr. Vanessa believes that a combination of evaluation and correction of each individual’s movement patterns, posture and nutrition will greatly enhance the positive results of her work as a chiropractor. She takes a personal investment in your health when you work with her, and she continuously drives to stay current with techniques and research. On her time off, you can find her in a CrossFit gym, playing outdoor soccer, snowboarding or hiking the South Bay hills. She loves to stay active, but always finds time to enjoy her family and friends.

  • Olivia Egan-Rudolph, CFSU
    Strength Coach

    With a degree in Environmental Science and Political Theory, Olivia’s career path towards fitness wasn’t liner. Motivated by her desire to effect change in underserved communities, she took a job in the nonprofit sector after graduation but quickly encountered burnout. Long-hours, and emotionally taxing and poorly rewarded work were commonplace. Self-care was seen as a guilty pleasure, a once-in-a-while feel good luxury instead of an individual and organizational necessity. While sacrificing one’s health in service of a cause is a common narrative in the nonprofit sector, Olivia thought it was time to change the status quo. She started a practice of radical self-care that ultimately lead her to pursue a career in fitness. Movement became an act of self-preservation, not an indulgence. As a high school and college athlete, Olivia developed a passion for sport at an early age. It wasn’t until her early-twenties that she realized that movement was indispensable and inseparable from her physical and mental well-being. Now she’s on a mission to spread the positive by-products of movement using strength and conditioning as her platform. As an ACSM Certified Personal Trainer and Certified Functional Strength Coach, Olivia believes that physical activity should be fun, easily accessible and effective. She’s a devoted practitioner who believes that exercise is medicine for the body and the mind. Olivia splits her time between San Jose and Santa Cruz coaching athletes who range in ability and sport. Olivia dedicates her free time to practicing her craft and continuing education. She’s an outdoor enthusiast who prefers the company of trees to the cityscape. She competes in middle and long distance running races and biathlons.

  • Rachel Combs, LAc
    Acupuncture

    Rachel was born and raised in Reno, Nevada and has made Santa Cruz her long time home. She obtained her Bachelors of Science from UC Santa Cruz and later earned her Masters in Traditional Chinese Medicine from Five Branches University also in Santa Cruz. Rachel’s health care philosophy is firmly rooted in compassion and cultivated by a love of modern and ancient medical knowledge. Rachel’s clinical expertise in the safe and effective use of acupuncture techniques is matched by her previous experience working in an integrated care environment. She believes this is the best environment to help patients get well and stay healthy. Rachel’s life philosophy includes giving back, and she regularly teaches on topics like mind / body balance and stress reduction while still volunteering free acupuncture services for organizations like Women Care and Santa Cruz Homeless Shelter. She has a strong love of nature, friends and family with the resulting belief that being outdoors is an important addition to a balanced, happy, and meaningful life.

  • Jennifer Gordon
    Massage Therapist

    Born and raised in the south bay area Jennifer received her BA from Humboldt State University before deciding massage was the path she wanted to follow. Jennifer is a Nationally certified massage therapist and has been practicing massage for 20 years. In those years she has over 1000 hours of training as well as being trained as a Pilates instructor in the Polestar method. Jennifer designs each session based on client goals and needs. Whether you completed your first Spartan race, need to de stress or just want to have the kinks worked out, Jennifer can provide a massage to help you reach your goals. Jennifer utilizes many techniques including deep tissue, cranial sacral, myofascial release, and cupping. Jennifer believes that how we take care of ourselves today influences how we age. Outside of work she spends time in the gym, playing with her three dogs and cooking meals from her garden.

  • Maxine Yeung, MS, RD, CPT
    Health Coach

    Maxine is a Registered Dietitian, Certified Personal Trainer and Health Coach. Her interest in nutrition started with her first career as a pastry cook. Passionate about cooking, she longed to have a better understanding of how different foods affect the body. She pursued her curiosity, completing her dietetic internship and masters in clinical nutrition through New York University, and worked in a variety of settings from hospitals to gyms. Speaking with Maxine, you quickly learn she is truly client-centered and focuses on a positive mindset. She believes in a balanced lifestyle and is dedicated to helping you find a realistic way to achieve your health goals. Maxine was born and raised in Maryland and moved to the Bay Area seeking access to nature after living in New York City for nine years. She loves anything outdoors, especially stand up paddling, hiking and running, and dreams of becoming a ski bum. When she is indoors, you will find her baking, crafting and spending time with her family.

  • Nina Kalus, PsyD
    Clinical Psychologist

    Nina is a licensed clinical psychologist who is dedicated to supporting people’s growth, both individually and in relationship to others. She received her Bachelor of Arts in psychology from Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, NY and her Doctorate of Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology in San Francisco, CA. Nina has experience working with individuals, couples, and families in hospital, school, residential, and community mental health settings. Her specialties include relationship difficulties, adjustment issues, stress, anxiety, and depression. Nina grew up in the city and suburbs of Chicago and has been living in the Bay Area since 2010. She enjoys cooking, traveling, movies, barre classes, and hiking. Alongside her husband, Nina loves exploring all that northern California has to offer.

  • Behin Abedi, PsyD, LP
    Clinical Psychologist

    Behin is a licensed clinical psychologist, dedicated to empowering and helping patients live fuller and more enriching lives. She has worked in a variety of health settings, including community mental health, university counseling, hospital, and private practice. She considers herself a generalist who has a wealth of experience and skill treating adolescents and adults struggling with issues related to trauma, grief/loss, anxiety, depression, relationships, self-esteem, identity, acculturation and other cultural related stressors. She has a passion and expertise in the treatment of racial and ethnic minority populations. Behin has a supportive and collaborative treatment approach. She adapts the therapeutic process to the unique needs, preferences, and goals of each patient. In doing so, she integrates different treatment modalities and evidence-based practices to improve the overall health and well-being of the individual. Behin recently moved to the Bay area from Minneapolis, Minnesota, which is where she was born and raised. She graduated with her bachelors from the University of Minnesota and with her doctorate from the Minnesota School of Professional Psychology. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, snuggling her dog, trying new food, traveling, and spending time outdoors – far, far away from the Minnesota weather.

  • Jeff Liebert, LMFT
    Clinical Psychologist

    Jeffrey is a motivated individual who strives for efficiency and effectiveness in all aspects of his work. He is passionate about helping his clients to do the same. He is diligent and professional, ensuring that he is utilizing the most current evidence-based practices and assessments in the care he provides. Jeffrey has developed and used these skills in a variety of settings. He spent over two years working at an outpatient facility for individuals and families struggling with substance use/abuse and the associated consequences. During that time, he worked with both adolescents and adults from a variety of socio-economic and cultural backgrounds. More recently, Jeffrey has gained experience working with members of the military community, providing both in-person and telehealth services to disabled veterans. He is passionate about helping veterans to overcome issues related to trauma, depression, and anxiety. He also specializes in working with individuals struggling with issues related to workplace efficiency and effectiveness. Jeffrey was born and raised in Sacramento, CA. He attended college at the University of California, Santa Cruz where he received his Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. He then attended the California School for Professional Psychology, where he earned his Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. Currently, Jeffrey is pursuing a Master’s degree in Business Administration. Jeffrey is the second oldest of five children and has worked hard to set a good example as a role model for his siblings. Some of the activities Jeffrey enjoys are running, spending time outdoors/ traveling, reading, and spending time with friends and family.

  • Felicia Barr, LMFT
    Clinical Psychologist

    Felicia is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who was born and raised locally in Los Gatos. Felicia has a multitude of experience providing therapy to individuals and couples. Her interest in psychology began in her early years of college, and after finishing he B.A. in three years, she moved on to her M.A. in Counseling Psychology at Santa Clara University. Felicia brings valuable clinical experience from holding respectable positions including working on-site at Google’s Wellness Center as a psychotherapist. She also holds pride having served as a therapist at non-profit organizations such as Planned Parenthood and Hospice of the Valley. Felicia’s specialties include grief and loss, relationship dynamics and sexual/reproductive health. Having previously worked in multi-disciplinary medical settings, she identifies her approach to patient care as holistic and client-centered. Understanding the importance of mental health as a core component to overall health, Felicia provides treatment including, but not limited to, cognitive-behavioral therapy, cognitive processing therapy and mindfulness-based approaches to provide tools to live a present and fulfilling life. Felicia can be found spending her free time at the beach soaking in the sunshine – the coast is held close to her heart.

  • Annie Low, OD
    Optometrist

    Annie is a primary care optometrist who has been in practice for five years. She began her career in a small private practice and has continually expanded her practice settings by moving to a large retail setting and then to the employer health industry. She has continued to develop her patient skills as well as learned how to successful manage the business side of optometry in these various settings. Her practice scope ranges from infants and geriatrics and everything in between. She has employed by Crossover Health for several years and appreciates the opportunity to practice in an integrated care environment. She is excited to help launch the new Mountain View Practice. Annie grew up in the suburbs of Chicago, but lived in the East Bay for almost 10 years during her undergraduate years and as she began her career in optometry. She loves the California sunshine and enjoys her free time with her husband and twin sons. She is a voracious reader (2-3 books per week), a music aficionado who can play six instruments, and has the dream to one day produce an album.

  • Anastasia Alvarez
    Marketing Specialist

    Anastasia has a gift for relationship building which she has honed in a variety of clinical settings over her working experience. In her role as host, Anastasia is the first person to greet you and help you feel welcome as you begin the care experience. She also helps with any patient service issues, including coordinate appropriate follow up. She was fortunate to work and gain experience while in various medical clinics ranging from a surgery office to a physical therapy clinic. Anastasia is a San Francisco native and a graduate of St. Mary’s College of California. Anastasia loves San Francisco and continues to enjoy exploring and finding hidden gems the the city has to offer. She has a goal to visit every stadium in the NFL and MLB. She has a passion for sports, including both the Giants and 49ers. She previously served as a 49ers Fan ambassador where she provided game day customer service for 5 seasons. When not working she enjoys traveling and hanging with friends and family.
