Inspired by new cultural behaviors unlocked by today’s technology, Jay brings what’s now ubiquitous in our culture to the design of healthcare experiences, both online and in person. Jay thinks both systemically and at the individual level to design care processes that optimize the health of a population as well as each unique member of that population.
In 2012, Jay founded Sherpaa—the leading provider of asynchronous communication between patients and providers—and developed a wide employer and retail member base across the United States. A driven entrepreneur, Jay’s background in the healthcare industry includes being a partner at The Future Well, and the Founder and CMO of Hello Health. At Crossover, Jay leads the development of Crossover’s platform, ideating and shepherding features that unlock new technology-enabled clinical processes to create a seamless online and in-person care delivery experience for members and care teams alike.
Jay earned his undergraduate degree from Washington University in St. Louis, and his MD from Penn State University College of Medicine. He holds a master’s degree in Public Health from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, and completed his Pediatric Residency at St. Vincent’s Hospital in New York. Jay lives in California with his goldendoodle, Roux Barkinson. On weekends, you’ll find him road tripping all around America on autopilot with his fancy camera in tow.
